Week 8: How to start your own Zine Fair

Selling and trading Zines is a big part of zine culture, and making your own content isn’t just something that you did once in a workshop!

Learn how to make an event happen, including finding a venue, promoting the event, and how to price and sell your Zines.

When you’ve got a story to tell, some art to showcase, or you just need an outlet for your creativity, then ZINES (short, self-published magazines) are the way to go!

Week 7: How to use Zine techniques in Digital Publishing.

Come along and learn how to take the skills you’ve used making Zines and use them to make professional-looking print work.

Week 6: Street Press Workshop.
Learn the history of Street and Music Press, and how the typical Street Press Zine is put together. If you’re the type of person who wants to interview artists or musicians and write about them, then come along and pick up some simple interview techniques that will help you record good audio and get good answers when you ask your questions!

Week 5: Basic Page Composition.

Learn how to arrange text and headings, as well as how to figure out how your pages will line up when you print a Zine. If you ever want to print ANY art or designs, then come along and learn what bleed, trim, and safezones are on the page, and your work will never get chopped off by a printer or photocopier ever again!

Week 4: Special Effects and Textures!
Get cracking building a library of different effects and textures that you can use to add backgrounds, shading and special effects in your Zine.

This is a super valuable skill for anyone interested in Design or Digital Art.

Week 3: Photocopier Collages.

Learn the old-school techniques of cutting up pictures, building up art with them, and scanning/photocopying them to use later.

This is a great class to pick up a few different tips and tricks while you work on your Zine project!

Week 2: DIY Comics!

Learn how to storyboard a comic and how framing an image in different ways can help you tell a better story faster. If you’re interested in getting your comics onto the page and into people’s hands, you’d be mad to miss this.

Week 1: Learn about Zines!

A Zine (short for Magazine or Fanzine) is a small-circulation, DIY work made by artists, authors and hobbyists worldwide. Come learn about their history, the possibilities of the medium, and how to make them!

This workshop is for artists and storytellers aged 12 to 17 who want to get started making their own comics! Learn the history and potential of the comics medium, design some characters inspired by the lush garden surroundings, learn some quick cinematography skills to help you frame your characters with style and level up your comics paneling, and then put it all to good use making your own comics!

Now in it's 12th year attracting in excess of 10,000+ people, the event boasts over 175+ high quality handmade arts and crafts stalls, including seasonal produce, and international food area, a massive kids interactive amusements zone, xmas puddings, produce, fresh foods, and a licensed beer and wine bar.

Live music all day on the Star FM Live Stage from Fairplay Ent, buskers, childrens’ choirs and of course Santa.

Event is by gold coin entry per family and entry for the event is through Kangoo Road.

Nerd Con is coming to Campbelltown! Get ready for a day filled with cosplay, stalls and entertainment on Saturday 2 November from 10am - 2pm at Council's Civic Centre.

The Annual Manly Zine Fair is nearly upon us! Part of the 2019 Manly Arts Festival, the fair will run this year from 11am-2pm in the Manly Library Forecourt, Market Place, Manly on 21 September 2019.

The fair will feature a zine marketplace, giant games, kids-craft table and live music performances.
